During his visit in Sudan, Chinese Agriculture Minister Han Changfu co-chaired the third meeting of Sino-Sudanese Executive Committee on Agricultural Cooperation with his Sudanese counterpart, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Ibrahim Al-Dekheiri, in Khartoum on September 21. The two sides reviewed and spoke highly of the bilateral agricultural cooperation in recent years, expressing the willingness to further deepen the pragmatic cooperation.
Minister Han noted that, since the second meeting of the Sino-Sudanese Executive Committee held in 2012, the two sides have promoted the bilateral cooperation in an all-round way in agricultural technology exchanges, personnel training, agricultural technology demonstration center, agricultural cooperation development park, agricultural investment and trade, etc. Agriculture has become an important area of the bilateral cooperation. The Chinese side is willing to energetically promote agricultural cooepration under the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative" advocated by President Xi Jinping and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
In-depth discussion was carried out on implementing the Follow-up Action of FOCAC Johannesburg Summit, promoting the bilateral agricultural investment and agricultural cooperation development park, enhancing agricultural capacity building and training coopertion, intensifying agricultural science and technology exchanges, and boosting agricultural trade, among others. The outcomes of the meeting include the Minutes of the Third Meeting of Sino-Sudanese Executive Committee on Agricultural Cooperation, the Three Year Action Plan on Agricultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry ofthe Republic of the Sudan, 2017 - 2019, etc.
Sudanese Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Rangelands Dr. Musa Adam and Chinese Ambassador Li Lianhe also attended the meeting.
